Global cuisine
Global cuisine refers to the diverse dishes, and food traditions found worldwide. From classic comfort foods to trendy street foods, international cuisine offers a wide variety of dishes that people all around the world enjoy.
Pizza, which has its roots in Italy but has now gone global, is one of the most recognizable foods in the world. Tomato sauce, cheese, meats, and veggies are common pizza toppings.
Sushi, a meal with Japanese roots but now known all over the world, is another ubiquitous food item. Raw fish, rice, and seaweed are just a few of the staples that go into making sushi.
Tacos, which have their roots in Mexico, have gained popularity all around the world. Meats like beef, chicken, or pig, plus condiments like salsa, avocado, and sour cream are common taco fillings and toppings.
Soups and stews are a staple in many cultures around the world. Pho, a typical Vietnamese soup, consists of rice noodles, pork, and spices. Additionally, Curry is a spiced meat or vegetable meal having its roots in India.
Sandwiches are a common part of global cuisine, with dishes like gyros (from Greece) and subs (from the United States) both featuring meats, veggies, and sauces from other cultures.
Desserts from all across the world are a part of global food, from the universally beloved ice cream to the honey-filled phyllo pastry baklava, a staple of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern fare.
Famous meals aside, there is a vast range of meat dishes, vegetarian dishes, and seafood dishes to be found in international cuisine. Grilling, baking, and deep-frying are all common in international cuisine, and so is the liberal use of fresh herbs and spices.
In general, the diversity of the world’s civilizations and culinary traditions is reflected in global cuisine’s extensive menu of dishes, flavors, and preparation methods.
